The still-life is your friend! It opens endless avenues for design and theme, knows no schedule for weather, and tirelessly models a pose for free.

In this workshop you’ll advance as an artist by working directly from life in a studio that’s well-lit and set-up for still-life painting. The class will focus on:

• Essentials of value, color, and composition. 

• Painting technique, color mixing, brushwork and building a painting step by step.

• Starting strong with a block-in and using observational drawing methods to help simplify, correct and stay on track.

The goal over four weeks is to complete a still-life painting, improve painting skills and explore the art of still-life. You’ll work in a well-appointed studio offering personalized instruction, demos and feedback along with discussion of masterworks that will inspire your artistic process.
